Saundra Ros Altman's: Past Patterns

The Vintage Revivals patterns are only one size; the original size. The pattern envelope, instructions and pattern pieces are unedited. The older the pattern the more likely it is to have limited instructions. The patterns are printed on blue line paper and packaged in plastic.

Size: 42" bust, 46" hips.

This pattern was published by an independent pattern company or one of the many patterns sold through newspapers and magazines. Originally the pattern was described as "Slip-on dress. Suplice waist has inverted tucks at shoulders, two-pieced scalloped collar and inset vestee. Three-piece wrap-around skirt with right front laid in plaits at left side and joined under girdle that holds dress closely to figure, forming blouse effect. Dart-fitted sleeves with cuffs, perforated for short sleeves." Minimal directions. Pattern dates circa 1928-1929.

Suggested fabrics: Slip-on dresses were made of printed all silk flat crepe, silk crepe satin, silk flat crepe, and printed silk warp crepe venise. The colors were English red, navigator blue, garland green, Nile green, rose pink, tan fancy, blue fancy, navy blue, rose beige, tan, blue, black, and marron glace.
